Working field:

The job holder is responsible for all tasks related to the DFG-project " Mechanistic Studies on the Formation and Functionality of High Molecular Levans from Acetic Acid Bacteria". This in-cludes the development, planning and implementation of scientific experiments, their evaluation, the instruction of students, project management including the writing of interim and final reports, project presentations and scientific publications.

Requirements:

  • Successfully completed academic university degree (master's, diploma or equivalent) in Biochemistry, Biiotechnology or a similar subject
  • Extensive laboratory experience (i. a. microbiological techniques, protein-chemical methods)
  • Very good Microsoft Office knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint),
  • Good command of German and English required; willingness to learn either English or German is expected

desirable:
  • Experience in project management of public funded projects, in data analysis / statis-tical analysis (SPSS or the like)
  • Advanced knowledge in molecular biology and protein chemistry (expression, purification and characterization of enzymes)
  • Experience in handling polysaccharide-forming microorganisms
  • Experience in the analysis of -omics datasets
  • Experience in guiding students
  • Good organizational and communication skills
