The ideal candidate would be eager in pushing the envelope on urban research such as combining field observations with numerical modeling and committed to high quality teaching.

• successfully completed scientific university degree (diploma, master's degree, or equivalent) with a background in ecology, earth system sciences, biogeochemistry, physics or equivalent
• track record of strong interest in urbanization and its implications for the environment
• experience with field observations and/or lab measurements
• excellent problem-solving skills with comfort working with numbers/quantitative models
• fluency in English (written and spoken)
• sufficient language proficiency to teach classes in both German and English is expected

desirable knowledge:

• work experience
• programming experience
• knowledge of German (written and spoken) and other languages
• international experience
