qualification period (PhD candidate)

Working field:

  • Participation in an EU-funded research project in the field of electrocatalytic water splitting us-ing an anion exchange membrane (focus electrolyser single cell testing and membrane elec-trode assembly development)
  • Independent and scientific work in the field of electrochemistry, electrocatalysis, catalyst syn-thesis and catalyst characterization

Requirements:

  • Successfully completed university degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, physics or similar (Master, Diploma or equivalent)
  • Proven knowledge in the field of electrode surface characterization and electrode preparation
  • Specialized knowledge in the field of electrochemistry
  • Experience and knowledge in the topic of electrocatalytic production of green hydrogen by electrolysis (focus AEM electrolysers)
  • Very good ability to work in a team
  • Detailed knowledge about the following software: OriginLab, Matlab and Microsoft Office

  • Experience in the field of surface morphology characterization
  • Experience in MEA optimization (inclusive CCM and CCS coatings)
  • Experience in the field of mechanical properties assessment of electrolyser cells, i.e. pressure distribution analysis
  • Knowledge about the following methods: electrolyser single cell testing, RDE, XRD, SEM, TEM, Zeta-Potential, XPS
  • Very good communication skills in German and English
