We offer an exciting position in the field of tumor immunology in a highly clinically relevant research area. Our current research focuses on identifying novel CAR targets as well as hurdles preventing CAR T cell success against solid tumors. Our mission is to advance CAR T technologies to raise therapeutic efficacy against solid tumors and to bring these advanced CAR T cell products to the patients.

• Culturing of primary human and mouse T cells and tumor cells
• Genetically engineering of primary human and mouse T cells with chimeric antigen receptors (CARs), dual CARs, and other chimeric molecules (Transduction / CRISPR)
• Designing and cloning transgenes
• Running flow cytometry analysis on tumor and T cells
• Running ELISA / Westernblot / PCR analysis
• Running immunohistochemistry or IF on tumor sections
• Perform in vivo studies in mice
• Analyzing data and presenting results at the lab meetings and conferences
• Writing animal testing applications and project proposals
• Responsible for S1 and S2 documentation
• Supervision of (grad) students
• Responsible of coordinating efficient laboratory operations, SOP validation and methodical quality control, keep accurate data records and notebooks, organize lab records, maintain inventories and perform other duties as assigned or directed in order to meet the goals and objectives of the lab.

• PhD degree in Immunology, Cell Biology, Biomedicine or Biochemistry with outstanding result
• In-depths experience in immunological techniques, molecular biology and immuno-oncology
• Experience in next generation sequencing technologies (such as RNA-seq/ATAC-seq) is beneficial
• Bioinformatics knowledge (e.g. NGS data analysis with R/python-based tools) is a plus
• Enthusiasm for cell engineering and translational research
• Excellent team spirit, presentation, scientific writing and communication skills.
