University Professor - salary grade W3

for the department of "Computational Fluid Dynamics”.

Working field:

Teaching and research in the field of computational fluid dynamics

The following topics in particular should be considered in the research:
  • efficient simulation methods of fluid dynamics,
  • flow modelling,
  • flow control,
  • flow acoustics,
  • reactive flows and
  • multiphase flows.

Both methodological basics as well as technical applications should be covered.

The teaching tasks include, in particular, courses in the field of computational fluid dynamics and computational aeroacoustics in German and English language.

Other tasks include leading and managing the department and employees, support and supervising young scientists, promoting social diversity, knowledge and technology transfer, initiatives for international collaboration, gender and diversity skills and sustainable behavior, as well as engagement in committee and commission work of the university.


We are looking for a proven expert in theory and numerical simulation of fluid dynamics including flow acoustics. In addition to a basic methodical work orientation, the basics and engineering applications should be brought together.
Successful applicants must fulfill the requirements for appointment at the professor level in compliance with § 100 BerlHG (Berlin Higher Education Act), including a completed academic education in engineering or natural sciences, qualified achievements in research (doctorate in engineering or natural sciences), additional academic achievements (as a rule evaluated junior professorship, habilitation or habilitation equivalent) and pedagogical-didactic qualifications, to be proven by teaching experience and visualized in a teaching portfolio (for further information see TUB Website,
Distinctive experience in the field of supervising young talents, in knowledge and technology transfer as well as gender and diversity competence and sensitivity to sustainability issues are expected.
As an internationally renowned university, we require a very good knowledge of English and welcome applications from non-German-speaking scientists who are willing to learn the German language soon.
