Research Assistant - 0.5 working time - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen

Working field:

Scientific services and participation in research in the interdisciplinary, citizen science BMBF-funded project "Researching with children and young people on housing quality in large housing estates", which is being carried out in cooperation with the CUD Chair for Urban Design and Urbanization (Prof. Stollmann).
In particular:
  • Initiation of contacts and workshops with children and young people
  • collaborative selection of suitable research methodology
  • independent cooperation/support in the organisation of the project
  • contact with cooperation partners from the field
  • preparation of/ participation in joint workshops and conferences
  • participation in the archiving of the project data
  • own contributions to the publication of the research results as well as reflection back into society


  • successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in the humanities or social sciences
  • required are application knowledge of Citizen Science research or participatory planning as well as qualitative research methods, preferably with a focus on children and youth
  • very good ability to express oneself in German, English (spoken and written) and Turkish or Arabic (spoken)
  • the willingness to work together with the project partners on site in the afternoons and evenings and on special dates at weekends

Experience and knowledge in the following areas is desired:
  • Experience in teamwork as well as in working with children and young people and the willingness to work closely in a larger interdisciplinary team
  • initial publication experience
