Working field:

project: "Folgen von Inklusionsbeschränkungen für Naturwissenschaftlerinnen und Naturwissenschaftler der DDR"/ implications of restrictions of inclusions of GDR scientists
The task include the conceptual preparation and the conduct of the proposed empirical investigations in Germany.

  • analysis of research conditions in the GDR, which hindered the integration of scientists into the international scientific communities
  • analysis of the integration of GDR scientistis into the international scientific communities
  • analysis of the GDR scientistis´career dynamics after unification

The empirical data of the project can be used to develop a PhD topic.

Requirements:

  • successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) either in history of science with the focus on modern history or sociology with the focus on sociology of science, sociology of professions or organisational sociology
  • motivation to obtain knowledge about the other areas
  • Excellent German and English language skills (spoken and written)
  • ability to work independently on the design, organisation and conduct of empirical investigations
