The DAI Laboratory (Distributed Artificial Intelligence Laboratories) and the Department of Agent Technologies in Operational Applications and Telecommunications (AOT), headed by Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Dr. h.c. Sahin Albayrak have been conducting research since 1992 with the aim of developing and communicating technologies for a new generation of services and distributed systems. The DAI-LAB successfully conducts innovative research project with partners from academia and industry.
We are looking for a researcher expert in the domains of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning (AIM) research group. The specific focus in the planned project are advanced Language Models, Text classification, Sentiment Analysis, semantic knowledge representation, Automated text generation, and optimization methods.

Working field:

  • Research in the fields listed above
  • Management of cooperation projects with industry partners
  • Development and evaluation of algorithms and prototypes
  • Contribution to scientific conferences and workshops
  • Presentation of results on meetings and conferences

Requirements:

  • Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diploma or equivalent) in computer science or comparable subject area
  • Solid knowledge of State-Of-The-Art methods of automatic text analysis, language models and Natural Language Processing (NLP)
  • Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and optimization approaches
  • Experiences with dialog systems, semantic knowledge processing, recommender systems and text retrieval systems are an advantage
  • Very good programming skills (JAVA and Python)
  • Experiences with agile software development and project management
  • Good abstraction skills, modelling and finding creative solutions
  • Very Good knowledge of English and good knowledge of German
  • Previous experience in academic/industrial collaborative projects is an advantage
