Technische Universität Berlin - Faculty III - Process Sciences - Institute for Process Engineering offers a position of a

University Professor - salary grade W3

for the chair of "Fluid and Interface Process Engineering".

Working field:

The successful candidate has to represent the area of Fluid and Interface Process Engineering in its entirety. A focus in teaching should be on Energy, Momentum and Mass Transfer, Process Engineering as well as Plant Engineering. In research, the main activities will be in the fields of material conversion processes, basic operations and apparatus design as well as methodological principles. Teaching responsibilities will focus primarily on programs in „Energie- und Prozesstechnik“, „Energie- und Verfahrenstechnik“, „Regenerative Energiesysteme“, „Process Energy and Environmental Systems“ and Chemical Engineering. In addition, the successful candidate should provide topics for and supervise Bachelor, Master and Doctoral theses.


Candidates must fulfil the requirements for appointment at the professor level in compliance with § 100 BerlHG (Berlin Higher Education Act) [information sheet available by request], including a completed academic education in Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a comparable discipline, a strong aptitude for research demonstrated, as a rule, by an outstanding doctoral thesis, and additional academic achievements, which are usually provided as part of a junior professorship or are proven by a habilitation or equivalent habilitation achievements and pedagogical-didactic qualifications, demonstrated by teaching experience and visualized in a teaching portfolio (for further information see TUB Website, quick access 144242).
Specific requirements:
  • Outstanding expertise in the field of fluid and interface process engineering (expected)
  • Mastery of computational fluid dynamics methods as well as experimental methods of fluid and interfacial process engineering (expected)
  • Ability to lead a large working group (provided)
  • Research and development in the area of the above-mentioned topics (expected)
  • Experience in strategic planning, acquisition and implementation of national and international research and development projects (provided)
  • Integration into existing and planned (interdisciplinary) joint projects and research associa-tions (expected)
