Working field:

The Berlin Mathematics Research Center MATH+ (mathplus.de) sets out to advance mathematics itself and its interdisciplinary power with the aim of achieving progress on grand challenges in a wide variety of application fields. Part of MATH+ is the graduate school BMS (www.math-berlin.de).

Job description:
Research within the framework of the MATH+ project EF1-16 “Quiver representations in big data and machine learning“ of Prof. Schmitt, participation in the activities of the research group “Complex Analysis“.
The third-party funded research project provides an opportunity to do a doctorate.

Requirements:

Requirements:
Master‘s degree or diploma in mathematics or computer science

desirable:
Basic knowledge of the topics big data, neural networks, representation theory of quivers, and algebraic geometry, in particular, real algebraic geometry and invariant theory. Experience with relevant algorithms in these areas and their implementation will be an advantage.
