Research assistant - salary grade E 13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen

under the reserve that funds are granted; part-time employment may be possible

Working field:

Research in the DFG project "High Frequency Switching Power Converters based on AlN-based Power Transistors" in the area of wide bandgap power semiconductors:
  • measurement, characterization and analysis of new GaN-AIN power semiconductors
  • FEM simulation, design and test of optimized hybrid modules
  • power converter demonstrator design, control and test.

PhD thesis preparation possible.

Requirements:

  • Required is a successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in electrical engineering; We expect very good knowledge of power electronics, semiconductors, measurement techniques and experiences in electronic hardware development.
  • practical experience in the development of converters, knowledge in converter control techniques and programming of microcontrollers are of advantage and highly appreciated.
  • Solid foundations of scientific work and writing are expected.
  • Verifiable good knowledge in written and spoken German as well as English is a must.
