Research assistant - salary grade E 13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen

under the reserve that funds are granted; part-time employment may be possible

Working field:

Scientific coordination of the DFG priority program "Energy Efficient Power Electronics 'GaNius' " including the administration of the network funds, organizing and setting up the scientific program of project-specific workshops and summer schools as well as fostering interdisciplinary collaboration among research groups within the priority program; Conduction of independent scientific research in GaN-based power electronics, preferably in the field of power converter topologies, with links to device developments and system designs.

Requirements:

  • Required is a successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in electrical engineering; very good knowledge and experience in GaN-based power electronics based on several years of research experience / PhD is indispensable;
  • scientific publications in GaN power electronics is of advantage;
  • mandatory is very good knowledge of power converters and power semiconductors, experience in design, realization and measurement of power electronic hardware;
  • very good knowledge of written and spoken German and English language is a must;
  • independent scientific work, goal orientation, high level of organization and strong communication skills are necessary.
