Your responsibility

We are looking for competent support (T cell immunology and/or molular biology or bioinformatics) to start as early as possible. The group of Alexander Scheffold has a particular interest in T cell mediated regulation of immune responses and tolerance. Specifically we study antigen-specific T cell responses in humans using single cell sequencing and in vitro functional tests (Saggau et al lmmunity. 2024;57(10):2416, Saggau et al lmmunity. 2022; 55(10):1924, Bacher et al Cell 2016 167(4):1067) and the molecular regulation of T cell tolerance and anti-inflammatory functions (e.g. Ahlers et al. Mucosal immunol. 2022 Mar;15(3):480-490). The successful applicant will work on the functional and molecular analysis of autoreactive T cells especially antigen-specific human regulatory T cells. The technological focus is on flow-cytometry, single cell sequencing, cell biology. The project is part of the project RespecTregs, arecently funded by an ERC advanced grant.

Your profile

  • successfully completed academic degree (Master's, Diploma or equivalent) in biology, immunology, molecular life sciences, bioinformatics or a similar field
  • ideally with experience in T cell immunology, such as in vitro T cell culture and functional T cell assays, multiparameter flow-cytometry and cell separation technologies, single cell sequencing and/or bioinformatics experience
