Work­ing field:

The depart­ment of Agent Tech­no­lo­gies in Busi­ness App­lic­a­tions and Tele­com­mu­nic­a­tion is offer­ing job pos­i­tions for sci­ent­i­fic rese­arch­ers (doc­toral can­did­ate) with the fol­low­ing work­ing field:
  • Work in a rese­arch pro­ject for the devel­op­ment of a multi-agent sys­tem for dis­trib­uted and auto­mated steel pro­duc­tion
  • Con­cep­tio­nal design and devel­op­ment of a dis­trib­uted sys­tem for auto­nom­ous and col­lab­or­at­ive plan­ning of pro­duc­tion pro­ces­ses
  • Address­ing sci­ent­i­fic and tech­nical chal­len­ges like dis­trib­uted plan­ning and nego­ti­ation mech­an­isms
  • Fur­ther devel­op­ment of an exist­ing multi-agent frame­work
  • Coo­per­a­tion with mul­tiple pro­ject part­ners


  • Suc­cess­fully com­ple­ted uni­ver­sity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) in com­puter sci­ence, com­puter engin­eer­ing, phys­ics, math­em­at­ics or a rela­ted field
  • Know­ledge of the con­cepts, meth­ods, and tech­no­lo­gies in the fields of Multi-Agent Sys­tems, Plan­ning & Nego­ti­ation
  • Exper­i­ence with Dis­trib­uted Sys­tems, and Mid­dle­ware-Tech­no­lo­gies
  • Very good pro­gram­ming skills (Java, C++ or Python)
  • Good skills of abs­trac­tion, mod­el­ling, and find­ing cre­at­ive solu­tions
  • Excel­lent com­mand of Ger­man and Eng­lish
