Working field:
Assistance to the head of the chair; support for the acquisition of third-party funding (DFG, EU, BMBF, BMWi, etc.); writing of project proposals; coordination and cooperation in ongoing third-party funded projects; own research in the field of geoinformatics, especially in the fields of reconstruction, quality evaluation, and cartographic generalization of 3D city models using methods of machine learning; implementation, operation, and management of the 3D geodata repository for machine learning tasks (as well as the geosensor laboratory); acquisition and processing of large-area urban 3D/4D geodata; teaching activities (in particular exercises).
Requirements:
Successfully completed university studies (Master, Diplom or equivalent) and PhD in geodesy and geoinformatics or a comparable subject; at least three years of scientific and professional practical work in a full-time employment position; publications in relevant journals and at conferences; experience in the (independent) acquisition of third-party funding; abilities in the field of scientific writing in German and English; experience in interdisciplinary project management; profound knowledge of methods of geodesy and geoinformatics as well as very good skills in the field of (GIS-)programming (with Python and C++) and the use of programming libraries for scientific computing.
