under the reserve that funds are granted; part-time employment may be possible
In the field of digital engineering, you are researching a fundamental project of the DFG on the subject of design principles for the goal-oriented product development of technical systems. First, you analyze the real use of design principles (general principles of product development, design heuristics) in practice, training and research. A particular focus is on the digital acquisition, systematization and visualization of experiential knowledge from the area of product development of technical systems. You are going to elaborate, validate and demonstrate your research results by implementing a software application. In this way, you make a decisive contribution to expanding the wealth of knowledge in the digital use of person-bound empirical knowledge: Your research enables the next generation of KI-based assistance systems, which will use formalized experience as an essential data source. You will contribute your knowledge gained in the course of the project to the university teaching by developing a didactic teaching concept during the project.
At TU Berlin, you are integrated in the interdisciplinary team of the Industrial Information Technology department, which works closely with the Fraunhofer IPK's Virtual Product Development business unit. You are involved into a proven network of experts in the area of product development at the interface between classic engineering and information technology.
An opportunity for doctoral studies is given.
Successful completed university degree (Diplom, Master or equivalent) in the field of engineering
Knowledge in the areas of design principles, information technology and / or knowledge management
Independent, systematic and structured way of working
Excellent ability to analyze complex, theoretical relationships
Interest in the fields of visualization of knowledge, software development, knowledge processes in companies and university didactics
Very good knowledge of German (business fluent), good knowledge of English (conversational), both spoken and written
Experience in the fields of semantic technologies, artificial intelligence, empirical research and digital knowledge modeling is desirable (but not mandatory)
