Research Assistant - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen - 1st qualification period (PhD candidate)
part-time employment may be possible
Collaboration in research and teaching at the Chair of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering.
Particular tasks are:
Scientific planning, monitoring and analysis of soil mechanical laboratory tests.
Development of soil mechanical models for describing the flow behavior of dynamically excited sandy soils.
Implementation of soil mechanical constitutive models in finite element programs and execution of numerical simulations.
Documentation of the research, preparation of project reports, presentation and publication of the research results in scientific journals and conference proceedings.
Planning, preparation and conduction of courses and examinations in the Bachelor's and Master's programs in Civil Engineering.
Supervision of Bachelor's and Master's theses.
Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in Civil Engineering
Profound knowledge in the field of soil mechanics, engineering mechanics, and numerical methods for initial and boundary value problems, particularly the finite element method (FEM) as well as programming skills.
Excellent german and english language skills, both written and spoken.
Writing scientific publications and presenting the results of the research on national and international conferences.
Knowledge in the field of constitutive theory and material modeling, implementation of constitutive models, Lagrangian, Eulerian and ALE (Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian) formulations, programming skills in Fortran and experimental soil mechanics.
The willingness to independently acquire missing knowledge is expected.
