Work­ing field:

The assign­ments com­prise the work on a research pro­ject in col­lab­or­a­tion with European part­ners. Research topic is the devel­op­ment and imple­ment­a­tion of a meas­ure­ment method for the char­ac­ter­iz­a­tion of mov­ing and non-mov­ing sound sources. Tasks include the devel­op­ment and improve­ment of sig­nal acquis­i­tion meth­ods and sig­nal ana­lysis Meth­ods based on mul­tichan­nel sound and vibra­tion sig­nals. The meth­ods are to be imple­men­ted in soft­ware form and are to be tested using sim­u­la­tions and they also to be demon­strated using prac­tical meas­ure­ments.

Require­ments:

  • suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) in an engin­eer­ing sub­ject
  • very good know­ledge of engin­eer­ing acous­tics
  • very good know­ledge and skills in the field of acous­tic meas­ure­ment sys­tems and sig­nal pro­cessing
  • in-depth know­ledge of math­em­at­ical mod­el­ing
  • prac­tical exper­i­ence in the oper­a­tion of micro­phone arrays
  • advanced know­ledge in numer­ical sim­u­la­tion meth­ods
  • very good com­mand of the pro­gram­ming lan­guage Python
  • exper­i­ence in the work and organ­iz­a­tion of pro­ject with external part­ners
  • very good Ger­man skills as well as good Eng­lish skills (orally and in writ­ing)
Desired:
  • exper­i­ence with open data
