under the reserve that funds are granted - part-time employment may be possible
This is primarily a scientific position in the chair of Internet of Things for Smart Buildings. In particular, this includes working on a research project of the German Research Foundation (DFG) on optimization-based approaches to control engineering. Independent research work is to be carried out in the fields of robust model predictive control, machine learning, numerical optimization, system identification and related areas. This research work includes the development of new theoretical approaches as well as their implementation and publication in scientific publications. The position includes the option to prepare a PhD thesis in the mentioned research areas.
Successfully completed university degree (Master or equivalent) in Engineering with a focus on automation, control, numerical optimization or related areas.
Experience in at least one of the research areas: model predictive control, numerical optimization, machine learning.
Experience in modeling and simulation of building systems.
Good programming skills and experience in developing simulation studies with Python.
Passion for new technologies and development of open source code.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Very good written and oral language skills in English (at least C1) and German (at least B2).
Willingness to conduct interdisciplinary research.
