The PhD candidate will investigate novel vision-based algorithms that combine model-based and machine learning methods for scene understanding and spatial AI (motion estimation, segmentation, 3D reconstruction, etc.) using traditional cameras and novel sensors, such as neuromorphic cameras (https://arxiv.org/abs/1904.08405). The work combines perception, optimization and control disciplines.
successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related engineering subject with outstanding results
excellent knowledge of and experience with computer vision, robotics, machine learning, control, object-oriented programming and applied mathematics
excellent written and spoken English skills; good command of German required; willingness to learn German is expected
