Work­ing field:

The pro­ject „Gan­zTi­er­Stark“ ana­lyses how regional value chains can be strengthened which deal with organic meat from grass-fed beef. The aim is to pre­pare, test and eval­u­ate the use of regional organic beef in pub­lic cater­ing from „nose to tail“ in close exchange with prac­ti­tion­ers. Social sci­ent­ist research ana­lyses how the organ­isa­tional and legal bar­ri­ers can be over­come and the dif­fer­ent demands of the mar­ket part­ner and the con­sumers can be met. Res­ults will be pre­pared for nation­wide trans­fer; the case study will be car­ried out in the region Ber­lin-Branden­burg.


  • suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Dip­lom, Mas­ter or equi­val­ent) in social or regional sci­ences or related courses
  • exper­i­ences with qual­it­at­ive social sci­ent­ist meth­ods (as e.g. lit­er­at­ure search, pre­par­a­tion, imple­ment­a­tion and ana­lysis of inter­views)
  • know­ledge about regional mar­ket­ing, value chain or cooper­a­tion man­age­ment; com­mu­nic­at­ive skills
  • very good Ger­man and Eng­lish (oral and writ­ten)

Desired com­pet­ences:
  • exper­i­ences with organic value chains espe­cially in the Ber­lin-Branden­burg region
  • exper­i­ences with sci­entific pub­lic­a­tion; exper­i­ences with the cooper­a­tion with prac­ti­tion­ers (trans­dis­cip­lin­ary research)
  • final­ized PhD and/or exper­i­ences with third party fund­ing research.
