Rese­arch Assist­ant - 0.5 work­ing time - salary grade E13 TV-L Ber­liner Hoch­schu­len

Work­ing field:

Col­lab­or­a­tion in research at the chair of Energy Engin­eer­ing and Envir­on­mental Pro­tec­tion. Car­ry­ing out own research on the area of optim­iz­a­tion of tran­scrit­ical CO2 refri­ger­a­tion machines.

Require­ments:

  • Suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) in energy engin­eer­ing, pro­cess engin­eer­ing, power plant engin­eer­ing or a closely related engin­eer­ing sci­ence with a focus on energy engin­eer­ing, ther­mo­dy­nam­ics and exergy-based meth­ods with a very good degree.
  • Very good know­ledge of energy con­ver­sion con­cepts and plants as well as eval­u­ation meth­ods (exergy ana­lysis, eco­nomic ana­lysis)
  • Good verbal and writ­ten Ger­man and Eng­lish skills, at least at B2 level of the Com­mon European Frame­work of Ref­er­ence for Lan­guages
  • Inde­pend­ent and struc­tured way of work­ing, abil­ity to work in a team
Desired qual­i­fic­a­tions:
  • Exper­i­ence in sim­u­la­tion of energy con­ver­sion sys­tems and chem­ical engin­eer­ing pro­cesses, for example with the soft­ware tools Aspen Plus, Python, Mat­lab, EES, Ebsi­lon Pro­fes­sional
  • Exper­i­ence in the applic­a­tion of exergy-based meth­ods
  • Exper­i­ence in math­em­at­ical optim­iz­a­tion, for example with the soft­ware tools GAMS or Python
