Work­ing field:

The suc­cess­ful app­li­cant will cover the area named above in rese­arch and tea­ching.
Appoint­ment requi­re­ments are gover­ned by Arti­cle 100 of the Ber­lin Hig­her Edu­ca­tion Act (Ber­li­ner Hoch­schul­ge­setz).

Suc­cess­ful can­di­da­tes will have acqui­red their PhD or addi­tio­nal aca­de­mic achie­ve­ments (cf. Arti­cle 100 Sec. 2 and 6 BerlHG) in Poli­ti­cal Sci­ence. She or he is also expec­ted to have an excel­lent track record of inter­na­tio­nal rese­arch activi­ties with foci on Envi­ron­men­tal and Cli­mate Policy demons­tra­ted through peer-reviewed publi­ca­ti­ons. Fur­ther­more, app­li­cants should have veri­fia­ble empi­ri­cal metho­do­lo­gi­cal skills, inter­na­tio­nal tea­ching expe­ri­ence and expe­ri­ence in acqui­ring and lea­ding extern­ally fun­ded rese­arch pro­jects. We are loo­king for someone who is able to teach in Ger­man and Eng­lish. In addi­tion, expe­ri­ence in the super­vi­sion and imple­men­ta­tion of know­ledge trans­fer activi­ties is desi­ra­ble

Apart from the offi­cial duties of the appoin­tee in accordance with Arti­cle 99 of the Ber­lin Hig­her Edu­ca­tion Act, we expect the app­li­cant to engage in the fol­lo­wing activi­ties:

We expect the new pro­fes­sor to teach cour­ses of the bache­lor and mas­ter pro­grams in Poli­ti­cal Sci­ence offe­red by the Otto Suhr Insti­tute of Poli­ti­cal Sci­en­ces and to par­ti­ci­pate in joint and excel­lence pro­jects of the Depart­ment of Poli­ti­cal and Social Sci­en­ces - among others in the excel­lence clus­ter Con­te­sta­ti­ons of the Libe­ral Script (SCRIPTS). The appoin­tee should also address gen­der and diver­sity issues in her or his rese­arch and tea­ching.

If app­li­ca­ble for the respec­tive con­tent area, please give infor­ma­tion on indus­trial coope­ra­tion, inven­ti­ons/patents and spin-offs.
